THE BERTOLIT STORY
1963
In 1963, in German-speaking Switzerland, Mr. BERTOLIT founded the company that bears his name.
He registered the company in Geneva in 1965.
BERTOLIT is active in the field of natural stone cladding, specializing in the installation of stone briquettes on blind sections of concrete facades throughout Switzerland.
1975
In the mid-70s, BERTOLIT was acquired by the GENEUX-DANCET group, headed by Messrs. Enrico CAVIEZEL and Albano GANIS, specialists in the supply and installation of cast-in-place cladding (terrazzo and washed concrete), as well as in the installation of interior, exterior, horizontal and vertical natural stone.
Numerous emblematic projects were completed up to 1990, including Aéroport de Genève, Hôtel Hilton Genève, schools and shopping centers.
1989
From 1989 onwards, the fashion for poured cladding gave way to more modern stoneware.
Mr. GANIS and Mr. CAVIEZEL left the company, and Mr. Frédéric GROS, freshly graduated from the E.I.G., took over the management.
A new direction is taken, with the treatment of concrete cancer, a new and still little-known activity.
Mr GROS ran the company until 2005, when he bought it from the GENEUX-DANCET group.
At the time, sales were around 3 million a year, and the business was very promising.
Since 2005, BERTOLIT has grown moderately and smoothly, establishing its reputation as a leading company in the building envelope renovation market in the fields of Waterproofing, Interior Renovation and Special Niche Works.
2009
In 2009, creation of the Depollution division, covering hazardous substance diagnostics, asbestos, lead, PCB, PAH and HBCD removal.
2021
In 2021, BERTOLIT SA, with its 80 dedicated employees, will be generating 20 million euros in annual sales.
